Victoria Anson, Scholarship Winner 2024
Investing in the next generation of copper leaders.
Our scholarships come with more than funding. Recipients join a network of industry leaders, get exposure across the full copper value chain, and find their own path — whether that leads to a research lab, a trading desk, or a boardroom.
As demand for copper grows, so does the need for capable, motivated young people ready to help shape the industry. Our scholarships help elevate those leaders.
A scholarship may be a fit for you if you are:
Planning to study mining, geology, engineering, sustainability, or related fields

Scholarships are named in honor of two individuals whose belief in the next generation shaped their careers.
Lord Bagri
Lord Bagri started his career as a 15-year-old filing clerk in Calcutta, India with almost nothing and went on to become one of the most influential figures in the global metals industry. His devotion never dimmed: when he regained consciousness near the end of his life, his first question to his son was simply, "What's the price of copper?" His commitment to helping others inspired many and it's in that same spirit that the Copper Club's scholarships exists: to support the next leaders who will shape the industry.
Barry Feldman
Barry Feldman returned from Vietnam at 19, having survived mortar shells on the front lines, and spent the next 46 years becoming one of the world's most beloved copper traders. Known for his loyalty, calm under pressure, and a kindness that earned him friends across the global metals industry, he was the kind of person that people trusted not just as a colleague, but as a friend. He was also a mentor to many, and the Copper Club's scholarship program carries on his belief that the best thing you can do is invest in the people coming up behind you.
